The National Junior Honor Society is an organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement among middle school students while also developing and encouraging other characteristics essential to citizens of a democracy. National Junior Honor Society members maintain and extend the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, service, and citizenship through chapter service activities.

Seventh and eighth-grade students must qualify for membership with a prerequisite cumulative 3.75 GPA in Jr High (starting in 6th grade).

After the first trimester is when GPA calculations are reviewed. We use the final grades for Jr high years to determine the final Grade Point Average.  Eligible students will automatically receive an application to complete (typically in late December).  Once qualified, an application process begins which entails self and teacher reflection. If inducted, NJHS Members are expected to give their time to support our school as well as local and international charities.  The applications are reviewed in January for a February induction ceremony.
