Carrol Will Foundation

Thanks to a generous bequeathment from Merchantville residents Walter and Marie J. Carroll, Merchantville students enjoy enrichment activities and financial assistance that is unique to the students of Merchantville and Haddon Heights High School (former Merchantville students).

Each year, a committee of trustees determines eligibility and needs to determine how much each student earns. Residents of Merchantville that attended Merchantville School are eligible for the scholarships. For the 2026-2027 school year, 29 college-aged eligible students were awarded over $200,000. In addition, the Carroll Will supports a scholarship at Haddon Heights High School.  The Marie Carroll Merchantville / Haddon Heights High School Scholarly Achievement Award is awarded to a resident of Merchantville who graduated from Merchantville School in 8th grade that is currently a resident of Merchantville and is graduating from Haddon Heights High School with the highest cumulative GPA for Haddon Heights High School career. For the Class of 2026, a $500 scholarship was awarded.

Equally impressive for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, $137,000 will be allocated to school projects including academic field trips, art enrichment field trips, student art programs, various clubs, musical and school supplies and all things Knighthood.  Because of their continuing commitment to the students of Merchantville, the Carroll Will Foundation helps to provide a wide variety of opportunities for  students to experience the arts and enrich their academic and social interactions.
